I am a Ph.D. Candidate in sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and will complete my degree in May 2024.
My scholarship contributes to the sociology of law, race, social psychology, and mental health by analyzing the everyday practices that people use to produce and participate in institutional settings. Topically, my research fits into three related categories: (1) interaction in legal settings, (2) interaction in medical settings, and (3) recordkeeping practices in both kinds of settings. I employ qualitative methods—ethnographic, ethnomethodological, and conversation analytic—to study how coparticipants assemble and understand their everyday social worlds.
